Top executives in corner suites who are too shy to ask their
underlings how to attach a file to an e-mail are finding help
in the form of Jennifer Shaheen. Calling herself the Technology
Therapist, the Manhattan-based entrepreneur makes house calls,
helping CEOs and business owners with everything tech-related,
from figuring out what a mouse is to how to use a Palm Pilot.
Ms. Shaheen launched the service a couple of years ago. She
created it as a sideline to her computer training business
for small and large companies, called E-BusinessCreations,
when a senior executive popped his head into one of her group
sessions and asked for personal help.
Spreading the therapy through word-of-mouth, Ms. Shaheen
has brought on four new clients in the last three months,
adding to her list of a dozen patients. Executives who have
sought help are running the CMP Group, the American Business
Association, and Brenner Resources, which actually recruits
chief technology officers for other firms.
