Size Does Matter in Outlook
If you find this tip helpful:

How full is your email, or rather your Outlook profile -
known to some people as the - pst
file? Did you know that if your Outlook profile
is too big it may cause the following issues:
- Slow performance of your Outlook software
- Creaes a single point of failure - this means that if
there is any corruption everything is stored in one location
- Makes using the find feature sluggish
Outllook 2003 - is meant to hold unlimited information theoretically,
but you really should try to keep the profile size down to
eliminate the issues mentioned above.
If you are on Outlook 2000
or 2002 and you have too much data, and your
Outlook profile or PST file exceeds 2GB, Outlook may crash
and corrupt your file.
Now that I have scared you - here
is are some tips to avoid these problems:
- Save large attachments to your computer and remove them
from the message itself.
- Archive old files or dead projects. You can even create
multiple archives to help keep yourself and your projects
organized.
